Ministry I am in Nepal! It’s just like the old days in the Niobrara field of South Dakota, with Captain Raymond W. Lewis, Sister Margaret Hawk, and my own wife, then Sister Daisy Pierce. We had some great evangelistic missions in those days and now those three stalwarts have joined the glorious company of the saints who are cheering us on as we run the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:1). Just like that, we are having some great evangelistic missions here in Nepal. My main purpose here is to help the pastors and spiritual leaders of house churches in Nepal gain access to theological education. Hundreds of thousands have come to Christ in this rapidly growing movement and now there is a desperate need for training programs for those leaders. My Church Army experience is just what is needed. At present I have a class of six. I am working with three of them on Doctor of Ministry degrees in Education as they develop curriculum which is contextual to people groups, accredited academically, and conforms to the way Jesus taught the disciples. My inspiration on the last point is from A.B. Bruce, The Training of the Twelve. Our mission is called the Nepal Educational Mission and it needs your prayers and support. We are looking for partners who will come and work with us a bit, share Jesus, and join with us in the tremendous house church movement of God which is sweeping across Asia and around the world. Please pray that we stay close to Jesus and always get our directions from Him. For more about our mission and to see many pictures and stories please go to www.drgpierce.org |
